Day 111 (3550 miles)

I made it Arizona. I woke up this morning at the 19 mile marker on hw 70. As I was riding down the road it started raining. I made it over the border and to the town of Duncan. From what I understand the sprinkling that is going on is suppose to give way to a lot of rain and mountain snow. I'll have to find some shelter between here and Phoenix if this happens. The Liberian thinks Phoenix is going to get 2 inches of rain. This could mean 20 inches of snow over 5000 ft level. We'll see what happens.
I had to buy 4 new tubes for my bike. The goat head thorns were all over the tires. They go right through the tires into the tubes. I spent an hour pulling them out of my back tire, while parked at MacDonald's. I would have replaced my front tire if the store had one, its in pretty rough shape. Last night some kind of animal got into my bread, its not so easy riding through the desert. Its nice to be in this nice warm library, shortly, I must decide if I'm going to proceed out of this town yet this afternoon, or try to find a dry place to sleep here. Today's sign reads " if its not Love, its not God". Thank you for reading the sight, and have a great day, your friend, Daniel

Day 110 ( 3500 miles)

You never know what a new day may bring. I'm now in Lordsburg New Mexico. I was riding along the rail road tracks the last 40 or so miles. It seemed so great the wind was finally down the weather was perfect. Then I stated getting flat tires. I now am a firm believer in green slime tubes. There were thorns on the trail that gave me at least 5 flat tires. While trying to fix my flats I would see where the slime tubes were plugging a lot of small holes. I had to sleep in the desert last night because my front tire was flat beyond repair. Making it here this morning I'm happy I found a place to buy fix a flat, and another place to buy a couple of tubes. The donations that were made from several people back in Las Cruses have enabled me to keep going. I look in front of me and I see a lot of wilderness I can't but wonder what the future may bring. I do know God is with me. I surely don't understand why things happen, I do thank God he,s with me on this journey. I was able to park the sign in front of a truck stop with an Arby's for over an hour. Today the sign reads " Because he lives". I plan on switching it to " If its not Love, its not God". I see so many religious people that want me to believe like them. How can they all be right when they all believe different. Thats why I've patterned this journey after Jesus' instructions to the 12, and to the 70. I have not found a 2nd , he sent them out 2 by 2. I've been so blessed that my partner has been Christ himself. Thank you Jesus. You all have a great day, your friend Daniel

Day 108 (3400 miles)

Greetings from Las Cruces,
What a week. The wind can be very difficult to ride a bicycle through. I was able to spend the night at 8500 feet of elevation. While meditating a large black cloud came by and started snowing on me. I was overlooking a beautiful canyon in Cloud Croft New Mexico. A nice lady let me sleep in her unoccupied mobile home for 3 nights earlier this week, and last night I was able to sleep in a nursury of a church. I went over a mountain pass around 6700 feet in elevation, it was cold. I was able to Park the sign in front of a well traveled drive trough for 2 days. Today I parked it in front of a MacDonold's for about 1 hr. God touched the hearts of a lot of believers last night to encourage me. I was given food, lodging, and some financial assistance. Thank you all that helped with your prayer and physical support. May God bless you 100 fold. Todays sign reads " because he lives" Have a great day Love Daniel

Day 102 (3300 miles)

I'm in Hope NM. I'm on bike 7. I was unable to find a bike or any one to fix it Hobbs. As I gave up, God had a very generous excatholic pick me up and he took me to lunch and gave me his bike. I thank all that have helped keep the sign going down the road. I'm here now at a store where another christian is letting me use her computer. I have a new sign and it reads " Jesus saves".

Day 100 ( 3300 miles)

God and I have made it to New Mexico. I know Christ's spirit is going with me as I go. Last night while trying to proceed West out of Hobbs my back tire lost 3 spokes. I told the people who donated the bike I thought it would make it to New Mexico and it did. Thank you God for sending that man on the road last night to warn me about the road a head.
I hope the sign and this site encourages people to take a step out of fear and love stangers and that my testimony of God's unconditional love and support will help others to take steps of faith and serve God. This is my purpose for this ministry. Today I'm riding around Hobbs with a sign that reads "give thanks with agreatfull heart, becouse he gave us his son." I see much value in reminding people that God sent his son, and during this time of thanks giving we should mention thanks for that. I have a flesh, and you people who follow me and pray for me are my family and support. Please don't stop praying, its selfish, but I believe God works through this sign, Thank you God for letting me serve you, Love Daniel

Day 97 (3200 miles)

It mentions in James that we should watch what our tongues speak. Some times I want to know, and do things for God, I'm just not qualified to do, and know. I often forget that God is still in charge. As in the book of Job, nothing is being done in which God is not in control. I feel convicted after talking to a nice lady I met in Haskell a couple of days ago. I went on and on about the lack of compassion I see from many of the churches. I very much believe that the evil one is the promoter and the accuser. It sure doesn't take much to slip off into the land of the accuser. I hope if I've accused any of you folk during my travels that you will pray for me as I have asked God to fix any witness that I tried to under take on my own strength.
On the lighter side, my friend explained to me that the bear I seen had to be a wild hog, and the wolf I saw had to be a coyote. Another example of ignorance, I sure am glad the Lord is graceful, and weighs the heart. I was able to park the sign at a MacDonald's for the 1st time since I left Dallas. Going on a Thanks Giving theme today's sign reads " Enter his gates with thanksgiving in your heart" then a cross, then the words "thank you Jesus". I stopped at a grocery store and felt quite a negative reaction to the sign. I pray God will work in the hearts of the people that see the sign, and I pray I write the right words on it. There was a high wind warning yesterday. I had a hard time cutting though the cross winds that guested over 40 miles an hour. A cold front went through and this mornings low was in the upper 20s. By Monday they say it will worm up gradually back to near 80. Worn out from the high winds and just being plain tired I slept in a motel last night. Thank you all for all your prayers and donations. I hope God increases you 100 fold. Love your friend Daniel

Day 95 (3100 miles)

Greetings from Haskell TX. The high winds I battled yesterday seem to have diminished. I was going due west and the wind was from the southwest but it was still difficult. I was able to take a shower last night at a city owned free camp site. I had a hot cake breakfast at the dairy queen this morning. The library here has a lot of computers. I noticed there building a new building around the corner. The people here have been real friendly. I'm setting a new route further South. The roads are not well traveled here in West Texas. There was a stretch yesterday I didn't see a car for over an hour. I saw a dead hog on the side of the road, and I saw a coyote cross the road and watch me from about 1/4 mile away. Today's verse is " blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God". Libraries are few and far between, so postings might not be as regular. Thank you, everyone who logs on to the sight. Please pray God will use the sign for his purposes and that my eyes will be open for his opportunities. I due pray each one of you, make a personal choice to love God, and to do to others as you want done to yourself. Don't rely on your church, its a individual choice, the churches righteousness may not be good enough, but Christ's blood will be. Have a great day, love Daniel

Day 93 (3050 miles)

I left Dallas a couple of days ago. Last night I spent the night at ft. Richardson State Park in Jacksboro TX. The wind that I faced in Eastern Arkansas is back here in central TX. I left Jacksboro this morning and passed through some type of ridge line to a small town named Bryson. I stopped to worship at a United Methodist church. It was a small congregation, they let me go in to their food pantry after church and I was able to get food for the next few days. A nice lady from the church invited me to have lunch across the street at the local all u can eat. I had a really nice chicken dinner, salad, and desert. She then has driven me 5 miles back outside of town to her home to use her computer. God's people can be so nice. In this day of fear, you can really reflect God's light by showing compassion, you really stick out. Today's sign reads " The world is passing away, but those who do God's will, abide forever". I thank God for all of you folks who have shared their lives and resources with me during this trip. Please continue to follow my blog and pray that God will open the doors he wants open and close the doors he wants closed for me,you, and the sign. Have a great day. Love Daniel

Day 90 (3000 miles)

I finally made it to Dallas. What a big city. Yesterday afternoon Allen and Jana treated me to an all you can eat pizza buffet. I visited their church and they gave me some food. I slept on a bike trail last night. I was able to park the bike sign at 2 very visible locations at 2 different McDonald's. The sign still reads "call on the name of the Lord and you will be saved". I'm planning to spend at least 1 more night here in Dallas area. I'm having some bike problems right now, I lost a small part and I'm looking for it in the bushes. I've had a couple of weird things happen and I sense a test happening. I want to thank who ever was praying for me Tuesday afternoon, I really felt God's presence and I know someone was praying for me. Please pray that God will continue to use the sign and that I will have boldness in my witness. Thank you everyone who has helped on this journey, God bless all of you.

Day 87 (mile2900)

They told me I would never make it any where in life, and I've made it to Paris, Texas that is. Sunday morning I left Wicks AR. and went into Oklahoma. Sunday afternoon and all day
monday I rode through Oklahoma down into Texas last night. Sunday night I slept next to a church and last night in a woods at a rest area. Sunday morning I worshiped in a small baptist church near Dequeen AR. and Sunday night at a large assembly's of God in broken bow AR. It was nice I was able to fit in at both locations. The pastor at the assembly's of God new a few people I new from Grand Rapids. I haven't had a lot of interest in the sign of late. This morning a car passed me slow at least 3 times. Then going in to the library a couple visited with me for a short time. Sunday night a man at Mc Donald's going through the drive through ran in and gave me 20 dollars. I'm trying to find a fast food restaurant to park the bike so people can see the sign. A friend and partner in the ministry gave me some wood hearts with the saying "Jesus loves you" and I leave them on the table. Today's verse " believe on the name of the Lord and you will be saved".
